So it seems the Shimano RX31s are out, and the only good choice in this price range is the Kinesis Crosslight Disc Wheels.
However, what parts (hubs, rims, spokes, etc) are used in assembling the wheel? I think the hubs are Novatec, but I'm not 100% certain of that.
The hubs used are of interest mainly to make sure that in the event that replacement bearings/freehub is needed, they actually are able to be purchased, unlike my current wheels (Formula hubs).

Can definitely buy bearings for them, I bought some from Duncan at DIYMTB.
Kinesis also sent me a replacement free hub to replace my faulty one, so I presume you can buy replacements from them as well.

Not bad....and then I see Centrelock disc mounts. And my 32H 29er wheels were as light...Hope Evo2 front/White Industries M16 rear/Alex Evo Super Comp rims/Sapim race spokes. With full Hope hubs you could hit that price point with a local custom buildnezumi wrote:Anyone have a take on these as another option? http://www.huntbikewheels.com/collectio ... less-ready" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Ours is not to reason why...merely to point and giggle
