There's a lot of choice at the $150 (or even 74euro) each price point. Especially at 22mm

75 euro = $110 aussie. That's where I expected the price to be. Do they post to Australia? What is the postage?

Thought so. Veloflex does seem to be a little thin on the ground.

Its for a front wheel, I use the same one for Road TT's and velodrome, including wooden tracks.
Also noticed how light the Vittoria track tyre is. 160gms for 22mm and cheaper, however could I use for TT's, I'm guessing not. http://www.probikekit.com.au/bicycle-ty ... 76985.html
And while I'm at it, what about glue? Its a carbon rim

I use Vittoria Mastik 1 glue over my carbon and alloy rims with no perceivable issues, that said, I prob. don't get enough heat into the carbon rims to worry about it.

Couldn't buy cement/glue from ribble, all the brands aren't available for overseas orders
So now I need to order the cement/glue from another site, or can I walk into a Sydney shop and buy it?

Depends if you only use a particular brand... I'd phone first!mikesbytes wrote:So now I need to order the cement/glue from another site, or can I walk into a Sydney shop and buy it?
I swear by Vittoria Mastik One - I found one not so local store that stocks it, so I buy tubes every time I go past to make sure I never run short.

I've never glued one, Bundy did them for me before.
Such a small purchase, hardly worth paying for postage
I live 200mtrs from the BikeBug mail distribution point, I'll ask if I can pick it up. Otherwise I'll be driving past Cell, I'll check there shop price.

They are flamable material and thus cannot / should not be air mailed hence unavail. for OS customers.
Gluing up tubs is easy if you take your time and have the right sized brush.

Grab yourself some artist's brushes and acetone if the rim is brand spankers. I prefer 8mm round brushes or 10mm flat brushes. The bristles get gluggy and separate whilst applying the glue and loose a bit of dexterity/accuarcy so a smaller head brush with plenty of time to take care makes a thinner, more even layer.

Suppose the next task is to remove the existing single and clean off the existing glue. As this is the first time I've done it, it's a learning experience

And ignore the American panic merchants.

I've done this just one on a pair of wheels with 11 year old glue which was visibly brittle and flaking off, I reckon 5-6+ year old well applied glue is good to re-glue straight up.

Yep.mikesbytes wrote:so just rip it off?
If it's a dead tyre use a blade and cut it up to get easier peel access.

Yes but carefully. Have heard in the worst case the glue has taken away some carbon when tearing off the tyre.*mikesbytes wrote:so just rip it off?

I guess anything is possible - uber brute arm strength, super adhesive tubular glue / tubular shellack or even poor quality carbon epoxy bonding.
Yes, peel it slowly and gradually, like the the glue up - take some time over it.
