Hi,
I'm in the process of converting an old Repco 27inch road bike to 700c single speed. Problem is, I need a 700c front wheel which is 91mm wide. The current standard 700c front wheel is too wide. Can anyone suggest a place or anyone willing to sell one? I'm in Melbourne.
Where to buy 700c 91mm wide front wheels?

might be easier to replace the fork. iam sure you could pick up a 1" threaded steerer fork for nothing.

91mm is going to be very hard to find new for sane $$. (See Sheldon on frame spacing)Cisco wrote:I'm in the process of converting an old Repco 27inch road bike to 700c single speed. Problem is, I need a 700c front wheel which is 91mm wide. The current standard 700c front wheel is too wide.
Do you need to go 700C? There's still a large number of 27 x 1 to 1 1/4 tyres out there. And you can replace the old freewheel cluster with a single gog. You may wish to repack the bearings
If the rims/spokes are cactus you can re-lace the existing hubs into newer rims/spokes (presuming you match up the necessary spoke lengths) but it's a pile of work.

Surely cold setting the fork would be the simplest solution?

Putting new tyres on the existing wheels would be the simplest solution Bruteforcing 100mm wheels in would be the second simplest. But you're looking at almost 5mm per side. You'll get some of that from thinner lock nuts and less spacers but most is going to be pretty brutalRonK wrote:Surely cold setting the fork would be the simplest solution?

Yeah - when I first read this I was thinking rim width, rather than hub spacing.
I wondered why you needed a fatbike rim for a roadie.
