Looking to buy a bike for the mrs to get her cycling but not sure what to get.
Is there much of a difference between men/women's road bikes?
Any suggestions on what bike to get within that price range from Sydney?
Ideally a CF frame would be nice, but i know i'd be pushing it at this price range, so alternatively i could potentially entertain some options if they aren't too expensive.
Thanks in advance
Women's bike suggestion <$1000

Do you want new or second hand? If you want carbon under $1000 it'll have to be second hand and recommendations would depend on what's available.
When I was new to cycling I got a very nice Liv/Giant Avail 3 for approx $900. Recommend, although for something more serious I'd go just over the $1000 mark for the Avail 1.

Merida make some good ladies bikes in this price bracket.
May need to push a little on the money. I would recommend 105 componentry if you can push that high
check out bike exchange
If it is her first bike stick with ally, not as fragile if she has a little tumble. Carbon is nice to control road buzz, but not really a bigger.

Differences? Sometimes just a splash of pink and cynicism, sometimes actual thought has gone into designing WSDto suit the differences between typical male and female dimensions. What suits your GLWs personal shape and size is always key tho.

Thanks for the suggestions. Seems all you can get at this price point are sora and claris too
I suppose it won't make a huge difference but would like more gears so she can climb easier.
Any idea which bike in this price range would be relatively light ?
