Buying from Japan options

Postby metalrideroz » Sat May 07, 2016 11:39 am

There are some parts that are Japanese market only that I would like. Has anyone used any of the services that allow purchasing from Japan from sites like Rakuten, Yahoo Auctions, Amazon etc.?

For example;
https://www.importmonster.com.au/
http://zenmarket.jp/en/?gclid=CIu8_Mjox ... vAod63cJZg
http://www.tenso.com/en/
http://buyee.jp/

Has anyone bought successfully, which service did you use?

thanks.

A few years ago I googled bike shops in Taiwan. I selected a couple of medium sized ones thinking they might not be under the Giant Cartel. They seemed to internationally inclined.
(Just pretending one exists.) Many USA mobs will not sell to an AUD address for sample.

Not even a reply. :)

a few years ago, i used Import Monster to purchase a strut bar for my car. Quite seemless transaction.
The strut bar was nicely bubble-wrapped. I've bought many items from other Japanese sites (for other hobbies) and found their shipping and packaging to be exemplary.

shipping is expensive. so you need to do your sums. having said that, there are many things you can find in the japanese domestic market that aren't sold elsewhere .. good luck :D

Just to update this. I ordered some parts through https://alexscycle.com/ . They did not stock what I was after but did carry items from the brand and were happy to order parts in. 7 days to order parts in, 3 business days for delivery Japan to Perth. Pity I didn't know about them when the yen was at 100. Very satisfied, will use them again.
