Where to get cheap - good BB7 pads?
Postby daft1024 » Tue Jun 14, 2016 10:31 am
Hi,
I've worked though my supply of Union organic and Alligator semi-metallic that I got from Torpedo7 but they don't stock them anymore.
The union pads were $2.50 and the alligator pads were $8. Both work a treat (although the alligators are squeally bastards in the rain). The union organic pads in particular have been really good.
I can't seem to find anywhere else that sells decent pads at a reasonable price. Anyone got a secret supplier they can hook me up with?
I'm loath to pay $30+ for the name brands when I now know that some of the cheapies are just as good.

Haven't tried them yet. Have purchased a few pairs, will get around to installing them soon.
My Swisstop organics haven't lasted very long at all compared to the original Tektro pads (which I thought had a bit of an aversion to braking down hills). I think the Swisstop melt when water is added.
The reviews seem pretty good, and at $4 a pair, that's superb value. There are semi-metallic available for $7 a pair too.

Hi daft and zippy,
I have 4 new sets of BB7 pads sitting around gathering dust (I upgraded to hydraulics). You have have them for free (or 2 sets each if you're both interested).
Pickup from inner west Sydney, or I can post to you if you pay postage (won't be able to get to the post office till Thursday).
pm me if interested.
Cheers,
slowK
