Experience with 'Ruffy Tuffy' Panaracer/Rivendell tyres?

Postby Ant_S » Thu Sep 15, 2016 12:04 pm

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has experience with the Panaracer / Rivendell Ruffy Tuffy 700x28c tyres?

I'd like to try a puncture-resistant 28c for my commuter & I like the style of the tan walls, but can't find much real world info.

Background - I ride a steel SS, 36km round. ~25% road shoulder with std debris, 75% shared cycle path with lumps/bumps/tree roots plus tree debris, double gees, odd glass etc.

I had 25c Schwalbe Durano Plus but got fairly regular flats, they were slow & spongy & a PITA to remove & remount.

I'm currently running 700x25c Gatorskins which get the odd flat but ride much better than the Duranos. I could go a 28c in the Gators but as above would prefer the tan wall for aesthetics..!

Looks like no one has tried them! I may have to be the first.

I did email RivBike directly too, but they said they'd never tried Gatorskins but assume they're similar.
