If you have really wide feet aka surfer's feet, bunyons, etc then Sidi make a 'Mega' size in some of their model lines which is truly very wide.
If you are just looking for a regular sizing that is a little wider than the others then try Lake.

3rd class cycling is always better than 1st class walking

I've got both Lake wide fit (road shoes) and Shimano M087 wide fit MTB shoes and they're pretty similar in width. Neither were wide enough for me when new but both have stretched to be quite comfortable now. Bont provide actual width measurements for their shoes (and have decent width for wide sizes) but they are expensive.

I have pretty wide feet and have found the Shimano XC61 shoes to be on the wide side and quite comfortable.

Thanks for the help, Ive looked at these but haven't found my size as yet.
I did find these:

They look like school shoes but as long as they're comfy I don't mind. Any opinions on these?

I've had wide-fit Shimanos (XC-7s I think?) and wide-fit Lakes (MX237, road equivalent is the CX237, bikebug has them online in Australia). The Lakes are more comfortable for me. But everyone's feet are different, and wide in different places. Gotta try them and see.
Not personally tried them, but Northwaves often get mentioned in similar threads.

The Lakes look very nice, mmmm...real leather.
Looks like they only have the regular fit on BikeBug and I can't find the wide stocked elsewhere. Pity cause they look like a fairly close fit.
Thanks anyway

I have mildly wide feet (2E in sneakers) and currently wear Shimano XC shoes in their wide sizing.
Quite good, but I have tried others even more comfortable, just that these shoes were an absolute bargain from Cellbikes a while back.
From my own research while looking for shoes, these are brands that I know of which may be suitable (some have already been mentioned by others):
Sidi Mega models (not all their shoes come in wide)
Giro HV models
Mavic Maxi models
Shimano Wide
Also have heard that these following brands are generally wider, with a roomy toebox:
Northwave
Specialized
Lake
When it comes time to buy some new shoes, I am personally looking at some Giro shoes as I found them super comfortable, but the Shimanos were just that much cheaper at the time!

I am currently using these shoes for my MTB, although, given that I run SPD on all my bikes means that I can use these on my road or MTB.thecaptn wrote:Thanks for the help, Ive looked at these but haven't found my size as yet.

I normally wear a size 45 in runners, but for Shimano cycling shoes, I use size 46, in a regular width. The Shimano size 45 wide width don't really seem to make much difference to regular size 46.
As for comfort, they are fine. I suppose it's a bit like bike saddles, in that, if you go out for a long ride, and you haven't even thought about them during the ride, then that's great. That's how it is for me.
