Getting a bike painted

Postby andrich » Thu Nov 24, 2016 7:34 pm

Hey guys.
I was hoping to see if anyone knew of a good place to get a bike painted in Sydney.
Iv decided not to upgrade my TCR so I thought a refresh might be a good alternative.
Thanks

I'm not in Sydney but any powder coating place could help. I had my Specialized MB changed from the 4 year old original grey to a deep brunswick green.

I would advise against powder coating for carbon. Firstly, the prep work for powder coating typically involves blasting, usually soda or bead, which are gentler than the traditional sand-blasting, but still pretty aggressive, and secondly the powder needs to be baked, which is not great for the resin that binds the carbon fibres.

Not in Sydney, but Paint My Bike in Brisbane are specialists in custom bike painting.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
