Hi, I am sorry if this is the wrong section but it's the closest I could find.
I want to know how much my bike is worth before posting it in the sale forum.
My bike is a 2013 Cannondale Supersix Evo with SRAM RED 11 speed groupset and a dura ace rear wheel. It is incredibly light at less than 7kg.
The bike is in excellent condition and not used much because I prefer to use my Trek Emonda because it's a better fit for me.
How much do you think I can realistically get for it? A guy in QLD offered to buy it for $2000 and pay for shipping and he sent me $200 upfront payment to reserve it but then stopped replying to my messages and haven't heard from him for like 3 months so I think it is time to sell it to someone else.

In answer to the question "How much is my bike worth"?
Substantially less than you paid for it, like less than 50% original price and usually less than you think it is worth.

The guy has my phone number and email address so if he wants it back he is more than welcome to contact me. I can't return it since I don't have his details because when you do a bank transfer it doesn't show sender details.battler2 wrote:did you keep the 200?

As good as your bike surely is it's dollar worth is only as much as somebody is prepared to pay for it.
There are tons of mass produced second hand bikes on the market.
That bikes are nowadays marketed as ever improving, higher tech, faster, stiffer, lighter, cutting edge blah, blah, blah and new models released each year means that a three or four year old bike is now considered old.
It isn't old and isn't any slower than a new one but that's the marketed perception.
My guess is you'd be lucky to get $1500, realistically, for a faster sale $1000 - $1200.

Have a look on bike exchange. They are disposable items these days. A good analogy is cars, but unfortunately as a percentage bikes seem to plummet in value even fasteruser2357 wrote:Yeah but I just wanna get an idea of how much it is worth. If you can get $2K for it, that is pretty good compared considering the price you paid.
I thought the original sales price of this was much higher - but there were a few different Evo's. It's good bike with good spec and if it hasn't seen much action - everyone wins.

3rd class cycling is always better than 1st class walking
