Post your crank arm to 4iii for power meter install

Hi all,

Anyone taking this option to get the 4iii Precision Power Meter?

If so, how was the process? It's not clear on this page if postage is covered as part of the price. It reads like it is a 4 week process, but it might mean that you are not required to post back until about 4 weeks time and at that point it is a 10 business day type turn around.

I added the factory install option to my cart and entered shipping address and postage was US$102.51.

Damn! I see what you mean. AU$659 for factory install option with postage.
At Clevertraining you get buy the pre-installed 105 arm for AU$514 (inc postage) or Ultegra for AU$632 (Inc postage).
I am tempted to go the 105 to save AU$100+ plus and have an Ultegra crankset with a 105 left arm

Just for your information, I recently bought a Powertap C1 power meter for which I had to swap my Ultegra cranks for compacts. I went for a 105 crankset to save money. As far as I could tell, the left crank is exactly the same on both. The weight was the same and the appearance was identical except for the branding. So, you should have no problem.

This online comparison article also confirmed this. Although I wasn't sure about the 105 left crank arm's width from a top down perspective, which would effect clearance with a 4iiii power meter. I do have some considerable space to spare though, so a slight reduction in clearance should be ok.

fedex was a fair bit, to ship my crank to US and back. $97USD. Still overall was the lowest price PM I could find at the time, even buying a stages locally for my sram was $1000. the whole process was about 3 weeks
