Looking for a Vintage bike for my better half. The usual looks and with a basket are all she's asked for, had a look around at the usual suspects Giant, Specialist, Apollo etc. All of them appeared much alike.
So anyone got any advice or suggestions to which bike I should be looking at?

The lightest one you can afford. (presuming 32mm + tyres, 1x7 or 1 x8 + full guards and basket)
Sorry, scratch that, the one she likes the looks of best. It needs to be ridden.

Gotta look good AND it has to fit or it will stay in the garage!Thoglette wrote:Sorry, scratch that, the one she likes the looks of best. It needs to be ridden.

Lekker is a modern range with retro styling model, also the papolinaire (?) in Melbourne.
Many of the new / retro style bikes are (in my view) not as good in term as quality as original step-throughs of while many were lugged and feature lovely details... although Australia was never a big market.
In Sydney there is a store called Oma Fiets (Dutch for Grandma Bike) that brings second hand bikes in different styles though this may not be as accessible from WA.
Have a look at Vanmoof (online), very nice and a modern and rideable version of the classic dutch bike.
