I thought he'd do bikepacking with an upgraded Giant TCR SL running on Lightweight Meilenstein wheels... (ie, as per one of his videos, which I didn't bother watching).Rural Rider wrote:Thanks mate, that made for interesting reading ... I'm not a fan of the bloke at all but it was in a vid where he was talking about his new Emonda ALR-5 he had just bought and mentioned it was a Bike he would be able to use on the Indipac ... but he went with Bamboo apparently.g-boaf wrote:I thought he'd do bikepacking with an upgraded Giant TCR SL running on Lightweight Meilenstein wheels... It's aluminium rather than carbon. How about a Defy Advanced 2? RRP is $2999, with 105, hydraulic discs, carbon. Maybe you can find last year's model for $2500.Rural Rider wrote:The TREK Domane ALR 5 Disc with ISOspeed looks a really nice ride also ... and as you say may be far better suited to Touring and general duty than the Emonda for sure. It is a few hundred dollars more however and on sale right now at $2,549.00 down from $2999 (Why don't we just call it 3k) - I was trying to keep my budget in the sub $2500 range ... but for $50 more ...
