Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can buy a low cost disc brake road/cyclocross frameset?
I was recently in an accident and the bike was written off by the insurance company but I still have all the parts on the old bike (which had only done 1,000 km) and I thought that with a frameset and a new set of wheels I could build up basically a new bike (and the insurance has already replaced my bike). Looking for an allow frameset to take flat mount hydraulic disc calipers, shimano threaded bottom bracket and all 105 gear. If I could get one for about $300 I feel I could get some wheels for about $200 and then have a bike I could sell to a friend of mine looking for a new one.... and I get the experience of putting together a new bike and learning new stuff.

Kenisis ?
Depends on what you define as low cost and preferred material.
Was looking at a disc ally frame, and Mersin had then at A$800 or so with delivery

planet x or kinesis would be my first instincts too. PX regularly has pretty hefty discounts, but their shipping is pretty brutal. a kinesis from PBK might be better - more money in the frame, less in the shipping...

There's a 2015 Specialized Tarmac disc frame currently on eBay for $999 (not mine, don't know the seller). I was thinking of buying it and building it up but for me to buy all the disc stuff seperately it was going to cost me near the same as a complete new disc bike so not financially viable but if you already have all the disc stuff plus bars/stem/seat/post etc then it is probably a good deal.

The Planet X ones look good. They also have the London Road model, which is more of a commute than CX race. Seriously debating about rationalising the collection and 2 out/1 in for one of them. Can fit guards/racks, but not keen on the cable run on the DT, always gotta clean them up.

The ribble frames are also pretty cheap and the shipping isn't terrible...

otherwise you can go down the private seller track, add your groupo to this,

fits your 500 budget providing its a suitable size for you.
