Hi all,
I am looking at purchasing a bike with the main purpose of commuting, riding around 15 km a week. I am looking at the Flight City bikes http://www.amartsports.com.au/Product/F ... From=70102
OR
reid-urban x1
https://www.reidcycles.com.au/reid-urban-x1-wsd.html
Does anyone have advice as to which bike may be better? Do the flight bikes hold up okay? I can't find much info online.
Thanks!

The Reid will be better. The Amart Flight is not a brand / bike I would recommend - essentially a cheap in-house brand. If Amart were only selling bikes, that would be ok - but they are a discount type sports retailer without the level of specialisation and expertise in bikes as a dedicated bike retailer.
Cell Bikes (shops in Sydney and Melbourne) is another brand that will provide you will a competitive range with their in-house Totem brand. Here is a women's step-though style bicycle.
Otherwise, check out some local bike shops and see what they have in your budget. If the sales-person is too 'performance' orientated and seeking to upsell well beyond your budget, keep looking as it is reasonable to get a bike in your budget that will serve you well as long as you look after it.

The Flight bikes are not too bad. I first started riding one when I wanted to cycle for fitness.
A little better than some BSO's.
I still get it out for local stuff and it goes well enough and has no issues despite me having a biggish crash on it.
Some Amart Sports stores still have the remnants of Goldcross Cycles in there, along with staff who do know bikes.
