Horizontal Dropout and Brake Adjustment

Postby jimbrigcycle » Tue May 09, 2017 3:11 pm

Hello,
I ride a Surly Troll with horizontal dropouts. I have a Rohloff Hub which I adjust chain tension with a Surly Tugnuts on the chain side. I also use rim brakes. My question is , what is the best rear rim brake to get maximum adjustment from the brake pads when I tension the chain backwards.

I have a set with really long adjustment slots, only problem is the brand is so stylised I don't know what they are, got them out of a $5 parts bin at my LBS, they were $50. Slot is probably another 8mm longer than Deore. Good arms too, no flex. Not much use to you however....

Shamino 650 might work...
