Ok, probably a silly question but will 29er tyres fit on 700cc rims :?:

Yes, 700c is the same diametre as 700c. The 29er thing was a silly American marketing thing. They did the same calling 650b, 27.5, idiots.

I run Maxxis Ardent 2.25 on my Mavic A719 touring rims on my 29er.

To take the above further..... Not so much silly American mucketing (well not entirely), 29" is in keeping with MTB's imperial-measured American roots, as is 27.5" - which is actually a marginally more accurate expression of its tyre size than the hijacked and bastardised French system 650B, which was a relatively narrow tyre on a 584mm rim.....

Anyway, yes 29" and 700c (again, a hijacked, bastardised and highly inaccurate French size) use the same ISO 622mm rim diameter.

*Diversion* It's one of life's great mysteries why the ISO/ETRTO sizing system, which is the only truly accurate tyre & rim measurement, is virtually ignored by all sectors of the cycling industry.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Standards are like toothbrushes. Everyone agrees that they are necessary, but they would prefer to use their own.
