Shoe size, slightly bigger or smaller??

Postby Isaac199 » Fri Feb 09, 2018 9:00 pm

Hi! I recently tried on two pairs of Giro Empire SLXes, size 44 and 45. As my right feet is quite a bit longer than my left, size 44 is great for the left, but a bit small for the right, and 45 is quite big for the left, to the point where I can squeeze a finger into it, but really comfortable on the right (albeit being prob a tiny bit bigger than it should be).

I can't purchase half sizes, so what do you guys recommend I do?? Thanks :D

bigger...too small is not a good way to go...

or even better buy both pairs and wear odd sizes, maybe flip the other missmatched pair on ebay.

Feet sometimes swell when riding (especially when hot), so probably better to go big than go small.

Thanks for the reply! I wish I could afford two, one pair is expensive enough :(

How do you manage the shoe sizing in your shoes in general?

Do you pack out the smaller foot?

Buy bigger, second thin-ish sock on the smaller foot.

Never buy smaller, as you will be in for a world of hurt!

Yeah definitely always go slightly bigger instead of slightly smaller, you can always wear extra socks or pad out a bigger pair and on longer rides your feet will thank you.
