Pinarello Treviso build

hey guys

Bought a pinarello treviso frame circa 1985 this weekend and trying to plan a build. Would love thoughts/opinions before i start trying to find parts on craigslist/ebay etc

Have decided to stretch the rear spacing to 130mm to allow for modern groupset even if it will disgust some people!

Planned it out here - any advivc would be most welcome! First time building a bike from ground up.

Cool. So modern groupset on a vintage frame? Don’t worry, us retrogrouches are usually just happy when old frames get used, plus it leaves all the vintage parts for us

My Pinarello has 127 rear spacing and it’s easily spread to fit a 130 hub.

Mods: is this more suited to the retro section?

Pinarello Treviso is a gorgeous frame, especially in cromovelato paint so I look forward to seeing pictures. (instructions here)

One thing I have found with pre-indexed 80s frames is that brake reach varies immensely from model to model. If you find (as I'm suspecting you may) that series type dual pivot calipers (eg br-5700 etc) don't have the reach required, a set of Shimano r650 calipers are a good option. I believe your frame is drilled for recessed fitting and these are a much better braking option in comparison to Tektro r559.

Going to remove and service the current bottom bracket first before making a call on modern parts.

Sweet! Things that got my attention:

Old style fork crown suggests pre-‘85.
Both chainstays chromed is a bit special, Trevisos Typically just had the drive side chainstay chrome. Only the Record frame in the ‘85 catalogue had both chainstays chromed. (Aside from fully chromed rear triangles.)
Has the dual seat tube decals, but no bottle cage mounts!
Looks like portacenta holes in the dropout.

Is the serial R317? My guess is 83 or 84, not sure of model but Treviso will do.
