Brevet Gravel

I'm wondering if Audax Australia has finalised their deliberations for the new brevet award and rides, the Gravel Grinders? There's nothing updated on the website or the Checkpoint magazine that arrived a few days ago.

Anyone know of the status or where the new rules are posted if finalised?

we are still discussing the finer points of what distance the ride average speed is dropped and what to.
The next meeting is 5th December.
I know what I want in the rules.
Let me know what you think should be put on the table.

And apologies from myself also, I missed your reply. If the Gravel Grinder rides have at least 25% offroad, no singletrail, minimum speed less than 15km/h but maybe greater than the 10km/h applied to the Dirt Series, then I'd be happy.

Another consideration is that there are some events already being run that might be tied into the Audax world but having the nominal distances set at 200, 300 and 400km would exclude these. The Beverley Heroic, as an example and without getting into the nitty gritty of the event, is 50 and 100 mile rides (80 and 160km) so too short yet becoming popular and run by and won by local Audax members.

There are many Audax rides already that are less than 200kms, nominally 50, 100 & 150 but as these are "Brevet Australia" (BA) rather than BRM the time limits can take into account actual distance over the nominal distance, basically actual distance/15, like the recent Newcastle Overnight which was 172, had 285 registered riders by the way, was great. The dirt series and proposed gravel grinders are also BA so would also take actual distance so rides of 80 & 160 would have longer time limits.
