Lawd, this is a dilemma....

Postby Trevtassie » Sun Dec 11, 2016 9:10 pm

Soooooo..... I've picked up a bunch of high end touring bits and a frame for a good price... but only enough stuff to kit one bike, all I actually wanted was the frame. How do I decide who gets what between the missus and I? ATM we have a strict "lets have the same stuff so we don't get gear envy" policy. It's gonna cost me a motsa to match what I got, discs, rohloff, SON dynohub, fancy rims etc etc. Since the new stuff is disc then it'd all pretty well have go on the new frame. We've already got functional bikes that I was going to swap parts from, but hey....

Yeah I know, either match it or sell it....

The answer is obvious - you must give all the good bits to her.

Then of course, in the name of equity, you will be justified in acquiring another set for yourself.

Any other outcome will not be good for marital harmony.

I just knew it'd be "buy some more stuff". Good thing there's not a lot to spend money on in Antarctica....
The chances of getting the same deal again is pretty remote, unless Huey is really smiling on me... I can see some dealers rubbing their hands with glee, even from here...
