I have the option of both for the same price ( Second hand Altitude ) new Thunderbolt 2019.. the Altitude 2018 checks out ok for second hand
what would be the better bike for an all rounder.. mostly for riding around in the high country.. ( not looking to do super fast downhill, just kinda light backpacking )
No i'm not an expert.. lol
cheers

Thunderbolt 2019 with 130mm travel is plenty unless you are going steep/very rough/lots of air. Altitude is way over the top for what riding you described.
Aus motorists are safe to kill a cyclist at any time & confident that they will be protected from any serious penalties.

What brand are these? I’m not familiar with the models.
