I wonder what type of streets and traffic are in the areas where it’ll be used...it’s hard to imagine Australia Post doing that.

I wonder how much wind is in the areas where it'll be used! Wouldn't like to pedal that into a stiff sea breeze!

Imagine it would be London and environs mainly, but is also electrically-assisted. Have no idea on spec though.

You might want to work on your imagination - Australia Post has made a big push to using e-bikes, not for environmental reasons, but because it is hard to find the right delivery people with a motorcycle licence. The e-bikes also have a greater carrying capacity than a Honda CT110. They trialed trikes, but didn't go with them for a number of reasons, including that they didn't give a greater practical capacity than the 2 wheel bike which has a capacity of 170kg, including rider (40kg more than a CT100).

They have also trialed an electric 3 wheel motorbike, with a capacity of 195kg, but there are limits to where they can be operated - terrain, distance etc.

Nope - more than that - they have ordered 1000 of them.

They have also ordered 4000 e-bikes.

Thanks Ron I had missed that they had actually gone ahead & purchased the electric motorbikes. The e-trikes I was referring to were pedal assist, not the electric motorbike pictured above.

That’s fantastic. I knew about the first ones in the images but the others you mentioned were unknown to me.

We've had our local postie use the new e-trikes for one day on his rounds during last month. I don't know if it was just a try out or he didn't lie it. Our foot paths, where he usually rides are not "flat' as far as riding goes, so that may have been an issue, also being a trike, cross slop(not much) may have been an issue.
