I am Foo, only in Div 4. Did you mean the teams night or RAW generally?

I took young DD to RAW a couple of times. Too many riders, too many events, too little time = short sharp shite racing (in my opinion). Drove an hour and a quarter each way to do a grand total of less than 20 laps each time. The races are made up 'circus' events. You wont see something like a 60 lap scratch race or a miss'n'out or anything like that. Slightly dangerous too with lots of inexperienced people and a pick your own grade type system. Lots of people seem to like it but not my cup of tea. I understand the limitations and I applaud the promoter for running the show, great to have the track being used and getting people racing.

I really enjoy it, but I qualify as one of the ‘inexperienced and slightly dangerous’ riders referenced.
They do conduct the types event you suggest, this year at least:
You start with a warm-up scratch race, not listed ~10-15 laps.
I did my first laps behind a derny recently...

Well, the derny itself was a very cool white, electric vehicle. Div 4 is not that representative of how to experience a derny I would think; messy trying to catch it, a concertina effect from those who can't draft properly due to the increased speed.
Every event, experience on the track is new to me; I am kind of revelling in being a complete novice at everything - asking heaps of questions and thoroughly enjoying myself.
