Guys, I've got a flip/flop hub. Not using the fixed side at all. (Tried it... It isn't for me). Is it safe to put a freewheel on that side instead, so that I have freewheels on both sides?
The current freewheel is a 16 tooth, so I'm thinking an 18 or 20 for those days when it's all too hard.
It's just that there is less thread on that side, because of the locking thread for the fixed sprocket, and the thread that is there only goes a bit past halfway into the freewheel. Will a freewheel strip it and send me to the dentist? Or will it be OK?

Can't say that I'd like to chance it, with only about half of the thread inside the hub.

Many freewheels have been used on fixed hubs without any issues. You’ll be fine.
