New to riding, seeking info on my bike.

Hi,
As the title says, I'm new to riding. This bike being my first since I was a teenager. This bike is a hand-me-down from my FiL, he was going to toss it, but I kept it and decided to get back on the saddle after all these years. I have never heard of this frame brand before and a quick google doesn't show me much, that is mainly what I am after. I understand the group set, though old is a fairly good one. I've got a new battery and charger arriving in the mail so I can test it out, as the old battery and charger were lost.
This is also my first road bike.
Any info is good info,
