Responding to these consultation requests is essential. Once the management plans are in place it becomes exponentially more difficult to get anything in that is not allowed for in the management plan. And by "get anything in" I am talking about further development of tracks and trails to cater for changes (increases) in demand. At the very least there should be a mechanism included for users and stakeholders to propose new trail alignments and have them evaluated and feedback provided.
