After the recent performances by the mens track team, any win is fantastic.
Shame about the mens pursuit - they will have to find another second to win bronze.
Will the women make up the 4 s they need to get into the gold medal ride?

I know nothing about track cycling but yeah, they opened up strong at the start and held them off.

Have you found anywhere to watch the racing?find_bruce wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 6:43 amWomen made up some time, but not enough & comprehensively beaten by France in the race for bronze - darn good time set by the French & brilliant ride by the Italians to take gold. A fairly forgettable day for the Aussies - 4th in mens team pursuit, 9th in Women's elimination, didn't make the finals of the keirin
Foo must be out working, he hasn't been answering my stupidity lately

I took your hint with SBS - they're not showing it on TV but streaming it on their website - I tuned in a 6am which meant I caught the end of the mens scratch race & all of the womens pursuit.
Assuming I've got the time changes right, the following is the schedule, including Qld time for Foo
Saturday morning
Syd/Mel (Qld)
4:34 AM (3:34 AM) Women's Omnium - Elimination Race 3/4
5:00 AM (4:00 AM) Men's 1Km Time Trial - Final
5:36 AM (4:36 AM) Men's Individual Pursuit - Finals
5:51 AM (4:51 AM) Women's Sprint - Finals
6:01 AM (5:01 AM) Women's Omnium - Points Race 4/4
Sunday morning
Syd/Mel (Qld)
3:10 AM (2:10 AM) Women's Madison
3:51 AM (2:51 AM) Men's Omnium - Elimination Race 3/4
4:41 AM (3:41 AM) Women's Individual Pursuit - Finals
5:02 AM (4:02 AM) Men's Omnium - Points Race 4/4
Sunday night Monday morning
Syd/Mel (Qld)
10:30 PM (9:30 PM) Women's Points Race
11:07 PM (10:07 PM) Men's Sprint - Finals
11:15 PM (10:15 PM) Women's Keirin - Second Round
11:31 PM (10:31 PM) Men's Madison
12:31 AM (11:31 PM) Women's Keirin - Quarterfinals
1:04 AM (12:04 AM) Women's Keirin - Finals

Most times people are right but if you don't ask the question, then you just stay ignorant of things.

That was a very good and well paced ride and just mind blowing when you look at his average speed.

find_bruce wrote: ↑Thu Oct 13, 2022 3:42 pmI was thinking the same Foo. Brilliant ride by Leigh Hoffman to open up a gap of 0.519, with Matt Richardson holding on to most of that giving Matt Glaetzer an advantage of 0.31. Unsurprising that the dutchies came home strong, with Glaetzer just being able to hold on by 0.043.

Nope not a chance. They just have the power there for that to happen.
