Maybe that was the original plan for Outside, a full scale merge for economy of scale ?

You have to keep the owners happy and show how you can save money or make money. A merger theoretically means saving 2/3 in costs. Likely there will be supporting arguments that each channel essentially is speaking to the same (or similar) audience… management don’t mind how their subscribers are accessing or want their content… just as long as they are a subscriber.

With the CyclingTips audience, it would be interesting to learn how many readers abandoned and if enough have remained.

One topic I am interested in is where they now reduce their advertising income to 1/3 now… is that a problem for them or negligible?
