Looking at the possibility of putting a 12 speed 11 to 36 105 cassette on a DA9200 groupset for Peaks Challenge, Falls Creek.
2 teeth larger than Shimano recommend, is it worth giving it a go ?

Generally Shimano recommendations for maximum teeth are very conservative. An extra 2 teeth shouldn't be an issue.

I haven't seen a lot of the road 12-sp. stuff, but derailleur geometry looks similar to later 11-sp, which has considerably more capacity than the official specs suggest. So it will probably be fine.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
