Likewise great to meet up. Imwit and I were the Lanterne Rouge/s for the 50 km ride. It was really blowing out on the road. I checked and at the nearest weather station (Redesdale) it was gusting up to 70kph. We rode with a triathlete with deep-rim wheels and she was getting blown around by the wind mercilessly. As well as the bikes already mentioned I saw a beautiful 50s Legnano. a chrome Thurgood Super Elliott, and plenty of fine Italian machinery, like P!N20’s Pinarello. Other forumites spotted were Warren (Bicycle Passion), Mark (Bark Madly) and Paul Watson. More photos to come when I get back to Sydney, including Imwit’s Kraftwerk jersey.

Nice photos. There's a lot of minty bling there, as well as some ridden stuff which is always good to see.

Looks like there are now 3 of those Bugatti's in existence:
http://italiancyclingjournal.blogspot.c ... ycles.html

The spiel I saw said 2 were built in the US in 1985 (that fits with the info on the linked page) and this one was built by Greg Smith in Melbourne in 2000.

Agreed. While the mint show pieces are nice to drool over, it's the beausage that really brings out the character.

Mark (Bark Madly)

I assume Mark was the owner of the Ciöcc. He was telling me he has another one in the works!

OK, I admit, I had to look that up. Strongly agree.

Nice portmanteau - I can put that on the list of things I learnt today

Image stolen from Facebook. If you squint you can see me down in the drops hanging on for dear life at the back of the group, trying to get some relief from the wind.

Circling back to the photos posted does anyone here claim ownership of the Watsonia and if so any details.

I grew up in Watsonia and my parents are still there.

I have a very average frame only (not worth building up) but recall reading somewhere that a reputable builder made some of the better ones or is it just my bias creeping in?

^ Can't recall much apart from it being a very nice bike. Your best bet might be to send the organisers a message and see if they know the owner: https://themaldonclassic.org/contact/

The owner of the Watsonia is Roger Rayson from Castlemaine.

Looks like the Maldon Classic will be a biannual event, with the next instalment on the 2nd and 3rd March 2024.

The Maldon Classic has been canceled for 2024. Looking to hold it in 2025

Great news. Will it still be over two days or just the one?

Upload your photos to an image hosting site (postimage, imgur, flickr, etc.) then copy and paste the link here between IMG tags.

Detailed instructions here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23303

Best place to add them would be in the Kypo thread: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=100570

You may see a few that look familiar :P
