Seems to me that's what drones are for. A sustained drone surveillance of the path and follow offenders. If the drone doesn't have the range then it can get photos of them and their vehicles.

Maybe, but the drones don't help those who are injured by these folk.

Like on the road, the best deterrent is visible Police. On the road people drive very slowly when they see Police cars.

Once word got out then drones are visible police. Especially if equipped with speakers and cameras. Main problem is no political or police appetite to manage the illegal ebikes and the illegal motorcycles.

Simplest political fix is at the selling point. To buy one you must have papers saying what private property you are going to use it on, same as with a hunting rifle. Commercial and private sellers must require this information and if you don't put that info along with a serial number and buyer's ID into a form you can't sell the vehicle. If a vehicle is found and is not on the property it was registered on, nice big fine.

Then do a few stings on shops and private sellers and get those into media stories.

Every now and then query the database to make sure that the properties exist and if lots of people put down one property the property owner gets to please explain.

how does that work? the airport is due to open in a few years.

The crazy thing is that they've already done a huge amount of preparation work around Elizabeth Drive area.

Yes .. exactly. it's crazy.
They also ripped up half of the Wylde MTB trails. Rebuilt new trails.

All tax payers money.

Oh, I thought it was a survey for opponents of the path to get it ripped up and removed.

Gave my thoughts - and they are that it badly needs a 24/7 direct cycleweay connection from the Guilford to Prospect Canal cycleway.

The current "options" are terrible:

- Ride Victoria Street and Chandos Road (the latter a narrow, bumpy and busy road which is a rat-run and very dark at night)
- Give up and don't ride to the M7 at all.
- Drive to Rooty Hill or Eastern Creek and then ride
- Ride through Prospect Dam and Chandos Road (if Prospect Dam is open, which it isn't for large chunks of the day)
- Ride to Elizabeth Drive path (forget it, closed now)
- Ride further south to Hoxton Park Rd and then go past the Church to get to M7)

The Elizabeth Drive area where lots of people stop is now missing all of its trees. a very hot place now to stop.

Also I’m sure most people are aware but the path going up towards that area is narrower now with the barriers on the left. Also on the downhill as well.

Watch out heading north on M7 cycleway past Richmond Rd area, someone must have been riding a horse on there early today.

The horse unfortunately left its mess everywhere along there so watch where you are riding.

Fingers crossed for the poor guy that went down just after Elizabeth Drive. He had scrapes and bruising so will be pretty sore.

There were some trail bikes on the M7 yesterday afternoon near Sunnyholt Road. Teens riding them.

This morning I heard there was a pretty bad accident in the area that floods at the southern end of M7 cycleway. Apparently some brush turkey ran out across the front of a couple of riders and brought a few down.

Fingers crossed they recover ok.

Brush turkeys move very randomly - I find their direction is a lot more unpredictable than say, a bin chicken or a stray dog.

Brush Turkeys are completely demented. No directional sense. Give them a wide berth.

Also the faster you approach them, the more likely they are to get flustered and behave unpredictably.

Watch out the northern end of the M7 around the area Richmond Road and further north, someone has been taking a diarrhoea affected horse on there.

The water tap at Eastern Creek is gone completely.

Only a hose pipe exists in its place and barricades around it.

Concrete over it permanently? Or a new and better version coming?

Westlink M7 is excited to announce the water bubbler on the M7 shared path is getting an upgrade!

Our installation crews will be working near entry point 34 off Wallgrove Road, Eastern Creek, from 7am to 5pm on Monday 25 March 2024 to Thursday 28 March 2024, weather permitting.

The bubbler will be closed for use both day and night during this time and is expected to be available again from early morning on Friday 29 March 2024. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Pedestrian and cyclist access
Pedestrian and cyclist access to the M7 shared path will be maintained. Shared path users are encouraged to follow the instructions at work areas.

If anyone needs an alternative one, take the exit to go up Moonrise lookout and then go down to the picnic area at the Western Sydney Regional Park. It's not very far from the M7, you just have a little hill to go up and down.

It’s there and not bad. But the water flow is fairly slow. At least multiple people can use it at once.

However, as for the look, I can just see the frothing rage of some...

Family on e-scooters flying uphill on the Elizabeth Drive hill at I guess 40km/h. I was doing 25km/h with fair amount of power and they went past me uphill like I was going backwards.

They started off around Elizabeth Hills. So just be careful out there.
