Now that you've looked on the dark side there can be no turning back.
You are hooked.
I'm sure if you really want one then it will sooner or later become reality.

Well I'm firmly hooked into the darkside now. And I'm getting to test John's Mango on Sat/Sun. So I suspect I'll be firmly entrenched.

Ah!
But will I be able to prise him back out of it once he's had a taste?
That is the question.

Well back from Albany now.

What an interesting beast the Mango Sport Red Edition. The shell provides so much of the structure, whilst the spine handles the BB, seat, mid drive and only has a few bolts attaching to the exterior.
It's a shame John didn't have any spare 10 speed chain lying around as I had to operate on the small chain ring and the middle in only 3-4 gears. I spun out...
My feet do not like the touring pedals that came with John's, after 7km they were protesting and wanted out.
Do I want a Mango hmmm
I'm expecting wheel covers and a GX fairing for my trike this week so time will tell.

Baalzamon neglects to mention that even so he was leaving me on my LWB lowracer in the dust.

I could nearly keep up for a while though. What would he have done to me if he'd had all the gears?
It was unfortunate that we didn't have some spare chain.

The mango was a pretty snug fit and we had to lay the seat way back to get Baalz's shoulders under the cockpit lip. Amazingly then it fitted quite well except for not being able to quite set the pedals the way we wanted.
I'm not responsible for any bruised knees.

Trouble is now I have to try to get it back the way I had it. :D

Later we had a pleasant trike safari around the bottom of Princess Royal harbour with Helen and the dog in its trailer. Pity we were slow and held Baalz back. He had to leave us and go ahead as he needed to get away to return to the city.

I thought he'd left me a set of AyUps but it seems he just forgot them. No worry I'll post them tomorrow.
The velo was still here but only because it wouldn't fit in his car I suspect.

I like the way he's got the velo facing the wrong way, otherwise the aerodynamic lift generated by the shell might lift the car off the ground.

In the manual they explain how to do this rooftop trick. I notice the one in that picture is facing forward. Must be a slow driver.

Excerpt from Manual
It is also possible to transport your Mango on the top of a car. In
this case you rely on the Mangos tyres to protect the top of the car
from being damaged by the Mango. You can then tie the Mango
down to rails on top of the car. In particular, tie the front wheels
sideways, and use a strap over the cockpit opening, with foam
rubber or an old blanket to protect the body of the Mango.
It may look a bit cumbersome, but the Mango is more
aerodynamic than a normal bike, so will cause less drag on the
top of a car than a bike rack carrying normal bicycles.

However, do take care as you drive. The combination will be
more affected by side-winds, and a height restrictions could ruin your whole day.

Hi , this is my first time on this forum , I am looking buy a Quest or Quest XS. I hoping some of you may help on working out on gearing just don't know what would be best gearing put on Quest ,standard is 53/42/30 chain rings front, casette rear 11-28, optional 11-32 or 11-34, I be ridding on on flat country roads to climb hill, South West Vic. At moment I have Greenspeed GTO for roads and Velotechnik Scorpion FS . I hope to make my order in next two weeks on Quest, look like it will take about 6 months to deliver it from my order.

Quest velomobiles have a 11m turning
Mango is 8m
My ice is 3.85m for turning

Hence I'm getting mango due to 8m turning circle.

What's the aero advantage of the fully faired front wheels (Quest) vs wheel covers (Mango) ?

Clearly the disadvantage is the turning circle of a small Australian Shire.....
