There are plenty of anecdotes on this forum about cycling being useful to help prevent depression from taking hold. A study published last week adds more weight to the hypothesis that enhancing physical activity may be an effective prevention strategy for depression: see ABC: New study offers 'strongest evidence' yet that exercise helps prevent depression and for those of a technical bent, the study is Assessment of Bidirectional Relationships Between Physical Activity and Depression Among Adults

I have always found that I feel best after a ride and if I'm in the angry ant frame of mind, I go out and flog myself on the bike. :D My wife once said to me.............You haven't been for a ride this morning, have you?.....Nope...... I can tell.
