Listening to the commentary on the Teams Sprint, they are saying that the girls are putting out over 2500watts in the start of the team Sprint and the blokes 2000watts+, yet, the blokes are quicker! Can someone explain that to me? Many years ago, the coach of the weight lifting squad said.................Due to the structure of the girls pelvic area, they are capable of pushing out more power, due to their structure and should be able to squat bigger weights that the boys. I've always thought this with cycling also but it has taken a long time for the girls to get under 11secs for a flying 200mtrs. So why is it so, is it because of how the power is developed and how long it can be held or what?
