I will be doing NSW. Trying to make up for my set of 4ths last year. Though I discovered that my back wheel was partially jammed (hub) most of the season. This year I have 80mm carbon wheels on durace hubs and Vitoria singles - that has to be worth a place. Downside is I haven’t ridden track all year.

80mm are a good rim for Track as you can ride them indoor and out and the Durace hubs are nice, I have two sets of wheels with them on. What Vittoria's are you running? Be careful of when you go to pump them up, as the ones with the latex tubes are very weak around the base of the valves, so place you thumb or the palm of your hand, over the base, as you put the chuck onto the valve.

First day down. :) Lets not get excited though, the quickest bloke was missing.

Legs were crap and only fired for the 2nd heat to force a 3rd ride off and I burnt all of my matches in the 2nd heat. :(

Top effort Foo-man,

Also, I like the expression,
I burnt all of my matches in the 2nd heat.
and am totally going to use that.

What's on the schedule for Day 2 ?
Campagnolo for show, SunTour for go

I've got the Keirin and Scratch race. I'm the only Masters 7 rider registered for the Keirin  :( so I will be thrown in with the Masters 6 riders but will receive a medal for Masters 7.

For those that say..................there was only a few riders there in any event in a category. Well my answer to that is...........get off ya lazy arses and register for these things, because you get zipp for not coming and having a go.

Yes, very true but I can only ride to what my level of training allows and I try and push that envelope a bit further than I should. Thanks mate.

Day two done and dusted and I came away with a Gold in the Keirin and a Silver in the 10klm Scratch Race. The gold wasn't the way I wanted to win one but I went and rode the race with the Masters 6 riders and made them work for their money and I was assured of the medal, so long as I finished the race. One rider asked me if I was going to have a dig, even though I didn't need to. My answer was yes, I don't do not try in finals.
The Scratch Race was a combined 7-8 and 9 Masters riders and we kept a pretty good pace going for the whole race and with two laps to go, everyone started swinging up the Track, so Ron as in the Silver Fox took the lead and started winding it up a little and when the bell rang, he got going with me on his wheel. I thought of moving up to his hip and challenging but my legs said...........don't be a dumb bastard, you have nothing to give and I tried to just stay with him as the others started coming over the top of me and Ron held on to about 3mtrs from the finish, where Arch Davis just got him. Pretty saw now and just have the 500TT tomorrow. where I can just go deeply into the hurt locker and not worry about another race.

Well done Foo.

You can only race against those who show up. Of course I didn't show up either, but I'm a long way away, probably ineligible for a medal and not in the same age group. The Vic Masters Track for 2020 were in January, there were at least good enough numbers for M5 that I wasn't going to be offering anything more than comic relief.

Cheers,

Cameron

What a great report foo. Effort returned alright. Me I hate racing and get beaten every time.

Those school kids hurt with laughter as they go by me. :D

Thanks and trust me, I'm no different with being beaten but I have a long term goal so I just use that for motivation for when I get my fitness and speed back.

I hate hate youngins and even more so, when I ask how old they are and they are 50yrs younger than me at times.
