Won't do a spoiler re Catalunya Stage 1 result, but Colbrelli (who finished 2nd) collapsed after the line and was eventually taken to hospital. Apparently OK, but no word yet on what the issue was.

And in other news, Froomay finished 1:08 down on the stage winner in the Settimina Coppi e Bartoli. 106th from 115 finishers. Surely this is his last year earning the $$$? Even Nibali finished in the winning group.

Dull, dull, dull commentary. Are the commentators having a nap? Siesta time at the Volta?

Give me the excitement of lawn bowls, please!

Changed channels - Oh, Gent. And some actual commentary

The last few climbs of Catalunya were great action, and well done to Ben O'Conner.

Saw the end result for GW, but haven't watched it yet, will watch it tonight.

And I see how cuddles got his name!

Thank you BNA's own Secret Pro......at rorting the system 8)

Why not? I still read it. There is an article limit, but easily bypassed.

I got rid of Foxtel when they got rid of Eurosport. It was the brilliant for cycling. These days it seems you have to subscribe to a different provider for each and every sport you follow.
I'm just staying with free to air, and if it's not on, well, so be it.

You only need one subscription. GCN. It’s way better than Eurosport on Foxtel was

SBS decided I needed to watch 75 seconds of ads 1.3km from the finish of Amstel Gold. I was streaming it (the only option in WA unless I wanted to wait 2 hours) and I was already annoyed by the ads.

So vowed not to watch anything more on SBS. Just use the GCN App and a VPN (on my smart TV)

Has GCN changed in the way you can view it? Do they have an app for the Apple TV or chromecast or something that allows you to watch it on a TV... or do you have to use casting from a phone to cast onto the TV? I found casting from an iphone to the Apple TV worked OK, but was a bit buggy when trying to navigate through a replay to get to the bits you wanted to see. That was about 2 years ago, so may be better now.

Have an Android smart TV, there is a GCN app for it, also has a VPN app installed, pick the country I need to be from, make sure there is a small buffer (ie rewinds a few seconds or more, at start or when picture freezes). Watched Brabantse Pijl mens and women's last night,

Assume there is equivalent app for Apple TV

Definitely my favourite one day race of the year!

I'm hoping Michael Matthews wins :) but would likely need a timely puncture form MVDP & WVA.

Christ on a cross, that was the most depressing P-R I’ve ever watched! Every 5 minutes I’m confronted by starving African kids, Australian kids whose parents have abandoned them, animals being tortured for fun and Koola bears that have nowhere to live! All bookended by whinny’s sycophantic drivel. Yaaaaaaggghhhhh!

Great race tho, and well won. Even if I do have to read about the winning teams revolutionary tactics

Dunno about ads, didn't notice them, as I either flicked channels or ffwd'd the recording.

I secretly hoped for a 'unsung hero/team workhorse' to win, someone like Heinrich H etc. Hopes were high with the early break and Luke D riding well. But then that plan went out the window.

Happy though to see DvB win (although I don't like the team), but he thoroughly deserved that. MM also deserved better, but he'll win one day.

Now getting ready for the Giro and the last few classics to keep me entertained.

Still gotta watch last 35km of LBL, but nasty crash with 70 odd km to go.

Great to see Bardet look after his fellow Frenchie. Seems that JA is suffering from the curse of the Rainbow. Wishing him a speedy recovery !

Trying to remember when LBL last came down to tactics - maybe Gerrans in 2014. This year both womens and men were won by powerful moves, riding off the front, knowing a coordinated chase was unlikely

Tactics? Gerrans? Since when is sucking the air out of someone's tyre through a straw a tactic?
