Sneezing is far less painful too, so there's been a lot of improvement.

Oh dear, I remember that - worse because you know what's coming when it starts. Glad to hear that's trending in the right direction

Couple of years ago I got hit by a truck while riding and ended up with 8 ribs fractured all on the left side, 4 of them with "frail segments" ie multiple fractures, also collar bone, shoulder , 3 neck vertebrae, brain bleeding, hand and elbow but apart from that mostly ok, quite out of it for a week, in hospital and heavy drugs for 6 weeks but no big rib issues after that although I still avoid pressure on that side. Riding still not up to scratch but that's mostly mental. Fortunately the bike was mostly ok, rear wheel buckled.

Things have improved a lot this week so I went for a light ride today - a very flat 40kms, so didn't need to get out of the saddle. Did a few intervals and effort segments along the way and was pain free when breathing more heavily. Felt wonderful to be out in the sunshine riding again after 5 weeks off.

I managed the Hunt 1000 6 days after cracking a few ribs thanks to a sudden stop, well biked stopped and I didnt. Basically survived on Ibuprofin, used the gel rub and took tablets when required, manly pushing the bike up goat tracks
