Wheelchair/electric trike rider looking for assistance

Postby Mububban » Sun Sep 24, 2023 11:08 pm

Any Perthies interested in helping out a wheelchair-bound rider with his new electric trike?
I am looking for a person who could do this role for me. Initially it would be to provide me with...
Road Cycling escort and support.
Cycling at least 35km at 18kph average speed and providing support as needed.
Spread over 3 days in one week per fortnight. (About 12 hours.)
NDIS Rates of pay.
Need own ABN, insurance and strong enough to lift me from a low chair.
(Not sure you can go that far or fast? Don't worry. We can trial it.)
PM me for further details.
I'm built like a stick so lifting other people isn't really plausible for me.

Description of his trike:

ICE Sprint X Tour with Shimano EP8 motor, Enviolo CV gear hub, Yokozuna Ultimo hybrid cable to hydraulic disc brake, fully automatic gear changing

PM me if you're interested and I'll pass on your details to my friend :-)

Further details:
I live in Greenwood and will need to start and finish from my place. This is ongoing depending on my NDIS funding. Professional indemnity insurance is needed in case something goes horribly wrong (like your bike being stolen during a stop). An ABN number is needed to get paid. I weigh about 70kg as I am skinny as well. My trike is a pedelec. I need to pedal in order for the motor to work. I do not have a throttle, It is fully legal (bell, reflectors, lights and it is not a hand-cycle (My arms are too skinny :D ).

I can easily assist the helper with my legs to get in and out of the trike but my balance is not good. No need to totally lift my whole weight. I do not expect any one person to do that without a hoist. I am 60 years old and my average speed reflects this, even with pedal-assist.
Riding times - Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30 am and Saturday morning from 8:00 am, but these times may soon shift earlier as the weather gets hotter.

I could potentially help on a Saturday but as I work full time, I can't help out during the week.
