Starting off the year with a rest day haha.

I was about to go out a do 50k's but I decided a rest day is what I needed.

Up and running for the year.
Did 130.8kms yesterday, 2094 elev gain.
Only 9869.2kms to go!!!

102 today and it put me in a much better mood, going for a ride.
Timed it perfectly too. Beat the rain by about 15min and it has rained for about 4hrs

I'm at 1,078.9km with 7,442m of up.

Had a few days off, so I made a sneaky little trip to the mid-north coast and got a couple of long rides in. Very flat, but brilliant for my state of mind.

Also reminded of why it's so nice to ride early morning - the stillness, the sun rising, birds chirping, lack of traffic, etc- it's very cathartic. I work afternoons, so I'm not usually up early enough to make the most of it.

Set off for a ride today and had to turn around and come home after 500m. Think I've got a bit of per anserine bursitis in my right knee. Felt tender beforehand, but thought I'd be alright... nup. Not happy.

I was rather surprised yesterday to find my 10 minute power is starting to come back.

Oh I don't know - my progress from now on is likely to be all over the shop. Depends on what I get time to do.

I do know that I don't want to abruptly stop in mid-March for an entire year! I hope I never have that again.

Holy cow! That's amazing. Almost 100km per day. Well done.

Thanks folks - I'm starting to get better at doing longer distances without the pain I was having last year.

Last year anything over 80km was agony. I just had terrible saddle pain - now with more tweaks I'm getting past that.

G-Boaf: awesome work mate, as other have mentioned thats 100kms per day nearly, you may as well clock up the kms while you can.

g-boaf, those are incredible numbers, well done. I would be surprised, but I remember how many kms you were doing prior to your accident - an insane amount.
