A few people have been asking me about a Miyata road bike I have picked up. Well, here are a few photos. I hope some of you can give me some more details on this bike.
Steel frame; rather tall, 24 1/2" / 62cm (c-c) seat-tube (28.8mm); 22 1/2" / 57cm top-tube; 8 1/4" / 21cm headtube; 27" / 630 wheels; Shimano Exage/ 500/ Sport LX components with 52/42 Biopace chainrings; 5 (or 6? - will have to re-check) speed rear; shifters (missing in pic) discussed here; seatpost 26.0mm; chain missing
Any more info? Era? Grade of steel? Cheers, Tony.

I dont know a great deal about them but do know they started at 110 which was the low ranged model and went up from there. So 110, 210, 310 and so forth.
I had a Miyata 110 and it was 1020 tubing. They are/were known to make some nice quality bikes.
Other than that, I cant offer any more info. No doubt someone on the forum would know more.
Karen.
Just found this info for you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miyata

From 1990 Miyata catalogue:
"110. An entry level lightweight racing/touring with an impressive list of features. 12-speed, indexed shifters, aero brake levers, quick release front hub, bio-pace cranks. This is not what you can classify as a humble beginning."
'110' specs here
So I have a 1990 Miyata '110' road bike, 25" steel frame, 12 speed, in silver flake/ white (will double-check soon)
Thanks Karen for link/s.

Picked up another Miyata '110' complete today off hard rubbish this afternoon, this time in red. Unfortunately, it has had a front-end impact, with the tell-tale top & downtube ripples and creases behind headtube. Will check forks soon, and probably strip bike for parts.
I am getting quite a collection of bent frames, which I will probably be putting out for hard rubbish collection in seven weeks. If any one has a use for them and would like some, PM me.
Cheers

That would be nice of you, thanks Karencludence wrote:Check if there is a rotary club down your way. I know up this way they are tied in with making wheelchairs out of the back end of frames. Not sure if there is any in your area or not. If you wish, I can chase it up for you.
