I changed a tyre on the e bike and noticed a crack in the rim where the weld should be. The rim was proud perhaps one mm on the edge. So Im guessing the whole weld has come apart? Luckily for me it is being replaced on warranty, being less than 1 yo.
Makes you wonder about the quality of the construction. The wheel was probably held together by the tight spokes?

Sure it's not a pinned joint?
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Hi Duck,
Not sure about pinned joints?
I reckon if I loosened the spokes , I could pull the rim apart at the join.
