Sydney weather this morning!!!

Wasn't going to let the last two weekends of 2023 go by without a ride, so I pushed out this morning and fortunately the rain held off (mostly - a bit of a sprinkle in the third hour). Quite cool.

And not as humid as it has been. Last few days I was OK as long as I was riding, as soon as I stopped I felt like I had been dunked in lukewarm custard.

Fortunately I got a big ride in yesterday - so today just did Zwift - I was missing one of the Innsbruck routes so knocked off that 2x loop of the climb.

Sydney has today registered its highest dew point on record, based on hourly observations, after reaching 25.9ºC at 11am. Sub-hourly dew points have gone as high as 26.7ºC so far, although these can't be compared to historical data. Phenomenal obs for Sydney.

Missed getting wet when going to Addison Rd markets, and managed to miss again then afternoon going to and coming back from visiting Mum.
I presume that means I am going to get washed off the road tomorrow.

Nice ride this morning. Found out that access to the Riverglade Reserve cycleway from Manning Road is closed for maintenance of footbridge. Started on Jan 17 and closed for two weeks.

Hot, but not too bad until I got home. Luckily could keep to a shady valley for a good portion. Nice chat to a guy outside the coffee stop where he was looking at the Gazelle. Turned out he had one similar.

It was on the BOM radar this morning, mainly on the northside. I don't trust the forecasts, so always consult the radar.

Of course. The radar this morning didn’t look threatening at all. At worst I thought a brief light shower. Not the monsoon that eventuated!

Radar only shows what is happening though. It's prediction of what will happen is pretty hit and miss.

Very warm but low humidity earlier this morning. Felt cool descending into Bobbin Head. Climb out at the top was hot. Very few cars.
Did second fastest time for my loop so all good.
