Check which version of the left shifter you have. The early version, labelled as ST-5600, same as the right shifter, was designed for use with both double and triple-ring cranks. It is exceptionally fussy about tuning when used on a double, and can be prone to jamming & breaking its guts if tuned badly. Later in the model run, due to these breakages, separate double & triple versions were introduced, ST-5601 and 5603 respectively. These can also be identified by the word "Double" or "Triple" as appropriate below the "Shimano 105" logo on the cover cap; the early version will not have this distinction.

edit : the above is one of the OCRs I've commuterized for someone. Full refurb, 105, Shimano r500s and Schwalbe Marathons to make it a heavy-duty quick commuter. The Schwalbes took the edge off the speed, but give it a more robust pair of contact patches.

I have two bikes with 5600. The other, a Team Comp Fuji has an awful front shift which i cant seem to fix. The problem is associated with how far into "trim" it is upshifting. When the stop screws/cable end the shift halfway between the trims, it is then impossible/very hard to trigger downshift. If i allow it to shift into high trim, it often pushes chain over the top... So i have to tune it so it only upshifts into low trim, when a downshift works easily, disabling trim on high gear. But checking serials, they are both ST-5601, so i guess it's just something else.

The OCR goes great, and looks half-decent now i changed the droll black tape and seat. I took my 2016 Defy Ad 2 out on the weekend... It's a nice handling bike (I've put 32mm on it and use it for gravel), but just doesn't have the zip of the 2008 OCR A. Sport

Picked up my first serious bike from TBSM on Saturday (was previously riding an ALDI special crane road bike), being end of the 2019 bikes, they were happy to throw a pair of ultegra pedals in which i put towards set of Specialized Scorch 2 running SPD-SLs. All a bit serious atm, but hoping to push through that stage out and just enjoy this part of my life that allows me to commute by bike daily and have a mate to ride with on the weekends.

Pic shows my XS (i'm a midget 5"5) next to my mates TCR ADV2 in S, noticeably diff between the top tube length.

I think i might have to sell my OCR Sport. Today I scrounged together enough 11 speed parts to do a build, and i'd like to find a 50cm OCR composite for it. Here's an immaculate one (like yours?) at a reasonable price, but probably asking still a little too much as they're just so common.

2019 Revolt Advanced 1, such a joy to ride. Thanks to guidance from many forum members, I have ridden the bike to all sort of places around Sydney.

New routes and far less texting, distracted drivers to avoid.

Added another Giant to complement the gravel bike. Needed an alternative to get back into shape before hopping on to the Revolt.

2022 FastRoad E+, ridden 200km so far, less stress mentally and physically.
