Haha... I am right this second waiting for a chiro appointment (mmm... wireless broadband). I don't think he'd approve of me contorting myself quite that much

I have actually experimented moving the stem down. I didn't notice any problems on my short commute rides, but I still haven't tried it on a longer ride to see if it'll hurt me or not

(Maybe _after_ the chiro's finished his round of treatment I'll be able to take your advice though... )

Finally got my new bike sorted out.
Here's a picture. It's from a camera phone in bad lighting so it's not a great photo.

No, it's not an Avanti Quantum Team 2008.
I bought it as a Quantum 2.0 but there was a fault in the frame in the stem which lead to the forks coming loose even after a short ride. After 3 or 4 repair attempts Avanti agreed to replace the frame (warranty) but either the good hearted lbs guys or Avanti upgraded the frame to the Quantum Team for the troubles.
So it's either a 2008 Quantum 2.0 with a Quantum Team frame or a 2008 Quantum Team with Quantum 2.0 Ultegra running gear.

Either way I'm happy. The fault wasn't that of the lbs so I'll still be going to them.
The only problem is it 'looks' like a Quantum Team so it'll look like I'm having a mid life crisis but couldn't afford the sports car.

Here's my road bike. In the process of rebuilding my MTB/buying a new one. I love my ALC, flies along nicely and after a cassette change there is nothing i really want to upgrade etc. Everything just works well

Commuter/rain/dark bike:

Crappy photo, but you get the idea! My favourite thing about this bike is riding through puddles without getting wet, and its general indescructableness (that may or may not be a word).

Race/go-fast bike:

My favourite thing about this bike is that its as fast as I make it go... no excuses!

(I have replaced those junky Ksyriums with a handbuilt DT 1.2/240 combo. And the bartape is now black, because white tends to look good for all of about 5 minutes!)

I've got a bog-standard Hillbrick Pista as well but no photos as yet! (its very camera shy, having to share the track with those bling-tastic BTs!)

its getting washed once the rain stops.



i like it cause its alot easier to ride then my old MTB

2008 Specialized Allez Elite Double, upgraded to 10 speed spec. Just need to change the Tiagra FD and Tektro brakes now.

My favorite thing about this bike is the way it utterly refuses to regognise the existance of bumps in the road. Almost as smooth as my mum's new Diamondback Hybrid.

There's also my STP. It's pretty handy at going down hills. but not much chop going up. It's also pretty handy in the air too. It likes the jumps.

My favorite thing about this bike is the extent to which it let me improve my skills.

What I like most about this bike - it got me hooked on road bikes and road cycling as more than just a cheap option for commuting, and has since carried me for 3000Km at a total cost of ~11c per Km

Cheers Yep, well spotted, its a Dinotte! I've just got a single headlight though. Couple of mates have the taillights too, they are crazy bright!

I like it because it cost me nothing, It only weighs 10.5 Kilo, and its got cool alloy Shimano 600 bits from the 80's
