So Aldi has this offering this weekend - Sat Dec 10.

Has anyone bought this before?

Can anyone comment on the quality compared to the usual bargain basement offerings like the Reid Vintage?

shimano 7 speed gears would pretty much mean a rear freewheel, the real derailleur pretty much looks like tourney to me,

7 speed freewheel with tourney rear derailler = low quality.

Can anyone comment on the quality compared to the usual bargain basement offerings like the Reid Vintage?
look to be about on par to me.

compare these to what a higher end ladies stepthrough would be equipped with

Yeah that's what I thought... A used Giant or Spesh ladies bike seems to be around $300 on Gumtree. It would be wasted on the intended rider. I was looking at the Reid for xmas, but the Aldi offering might actually be a bit cheaper for similar quality?

I'm interested in this topic too - Can you contrast the Aldi v the Reid v this Progear?
