I'm doing the same rides as previous years. My climbing percentage is lower than when I had my edge 510 (I now have a 1000). I cbf'd going through on every ride. My climbing percentage is around 1.2% at the moment where it was close to 1.5% with the edge 510

Yup, 510 particularly older firmware is one of the most generous. The 1000 is a little on the stingy side but not too bad unless all your rides are undulating rather than full on climbs. Then you might be 30-40% under a 510!

Because they all use changes in barometric pressure. So sensor placement changes and device design can change what is and isn't detected

Also software with different hysteresis settings.

I replaced my fading 510 with the 820... And the new machine gives absolutely no favours!!! And at 90kg+ I think I should get elevation GST!
