First double metric for the year on Saturday.
A solo Sunshine Sunshine Coast to Brisbane via Mt Mee and Mt Glorious/Nebo. 206klm with 2700m of climbing. And into a persistent and gusty Southeasterly.
That was fun.

Did my first Imperial in about 4 years yesterday, finished on 170k with 94kms of headwind. Probably could have got 200 but would have been really pushing my luck.

137km with 1500m elevation for the 3 Dams hills event on the weekend. I rode within myself and was seriously considering pushing on to crack the 160km, until the final two climbs kicked my butt and I called it a day after crossing the finish line

just back from riding sort of Highway 1 from San Francisco to LA over 9 days, 4 of the days were metric centuries (I'm absolutely counting a 99.5! especially as an estimated 112 came out at 135km!) a couple of long days with 1200m or so of ascent - as luck works the longer days had head winds
all good for the mind
motels overnight so not fully laden

Did my 2nd 100km ride of the year yesterday. The first was the Great Brisbane Bike Ride in April. Yesterday was a trip out to Redcliffe, with a couple of km of faffing around near home to ensure that I ticked over 100km:

Realised last night that post Sunshine Coast Velothon in July I had not crossed the 100klm mark since!
So I woke at 3:35am this morning and was on the bike (and road) by 3:48am. Cracked out a quick solo 100.2klm and got home at 6:48 and was ready for the school drop offs and work by 7:10
.
Connected myself to the coffee machine at work via a drip ha ha.
Ytd now:
Metrics: 23
Imperials: 8
Double Metrics: 4

oooh, ugh. Did my 1st metric this year (102.07)...well since 2015 (which was my first and only till today). Was supposed to be fine and nice, turned out it was wet and windy, boo, and hilly.
Was also my GF's first ever metric century...she did it by doing parkrun at the halfway point (and coming 1st lady + PB).
We're both knackered now and pounding down some tasty food.

All on inline marathon skates:
Have done a few metric centuries so far this year.
Went to break my PB of 150-km by doing 160-km on 23rd Sept, 2018.
Didn't realise until the following article was published that I came so close to an imperial century. Damn,m I'm a silly fool.

I managed a metric for the
Giro Della Donna. I managed to pace it well and finished with a little still left in the tank.
I don't get out for long rides very often...
Cheers,
